Vanilla Maple Instant Pot Steel Cut Oats

  • 2 cups steel cut oats
  • 6 cups water
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup


  1. Place all the ingredients into your Instant Pot.

  2. Close the Instant Pot lid and turn the steam release valve to the sealing position.

  3. Set the cook time using the Pressure Cook/Manual function to 6 minutes at high pressure.

  4. The Instant Pot will take a few minutes to reach pressure and then the 6 minute cooking time will start counting down. When the cook time ends, allow the Instant Pot to naturally release for at least 20 minutes. Don't release the pressure manually!

  5. After the Instant Pot has naturally released for 20 minutes, carefully turn the steam valve to the venting position to make sure that all of the steam and pressure has escaped.

  6. Open the lid. Stir the oatmeal well to incorporate the liquid that has settled at the top.

  7. Serve with desired toppings! We love blueberries and raspberries (& sometimes walnuts!)
