I finally finished Levi’s new eclectic modern boho boy’s room and I am so excited to share it with you! I worked with some amazing companies to help pull this room together and we couldn’t be happier! Levi had a lot of input into what we did with his room, so he is probably most proud of all!
I knew I wanted it to have a tiny boho flair…almost everything in our home does!… But for Levi’s room, I wanted there to still be a major sense of fun and eclectic style. Something he can keep adding to and transform as he gets older. Levi loves the outdoors + loves colour + loves being ‘cozy’, so I knew this would be perfect for him!
We wanted to transform his room, without throwing thousands of dollars at it…so we agreed covering one wall with wallpaper was the best way to go! Isn’t funny how trends come and go? I know wallpaper can be a pain sometimes, I have (not so) fond memories of us growing up and spending countless hours taking off wallpaper! So when I came across the self-adhesive vinyl wallpaper from Anewall I was so excited!!
Levi and I looked through many different kinds, it was SO hard to choose one…but he loved the Paint Strokes Mural. I love the intricate simplicity of it, it makes a huge statement but compliments everything else in the room so well, instead of taking away from it. He thinks it looks like waves. It’s a win-win!
Once we put the wallpaper up, I was afraid it was going to be hard to find art to put around his room. I wanted artwork instead of typography photos (to start) …so it took a while to find something. Once I saw artwork from Ashley Percival I was sold! I actually randomly came across an image with one of his pieces blown up on the side of a subway station and thought it looked so cool! This began the eclectic side of his room design & I love how it fits!
Levi picked out two photos from the collection and I think he did a great job! His uncle is a skateboarder, so I knew one of the photos was sure to have a skateboard in it & he loves the beach so the surfer bear wasn’t a big surprise either! I think they are so different and unique, just like my little Levi, I don’t think we could have found anything better!
Storytime is big in our house & I have a feeling Levi is going to be an avid reader! He can’t quite read yet, but he still manages to talk his way through books and “reads” to his brother…so I wanted to give him a cozy space in his room to read. I came across these awesome velvet bean bag chairs from Kip & Co., another fun trend that has recycled in my lifetime! I think the velvet adds a soft, cozy touch that went perfectly in his room. We added matching throw pillows in green and orange to tie it together. They are just as cozy + comfy. I admit sometimes I steal them for our couches.
His auntie made him that beautiful mustard blanket for his birthday!
Kip & Co. has so many fun styles and designs! I was so excited when I came across them! Their products add such an exciting punch to the decor, they kind of have a retro feel. They also make adult size bean bag chairs that look incredible! Saving that for my Christmas wishlist! 🙂
The coziest part of Levi’s room is definitely the bed!
We picked out an Endy mattress for him & it was the best decision. Your body molds into that bed while still being firm and gives you the best sleep ever! Levi woke frequently before we got it and now it has significantly reduced! You can check out my blog post on his transition into a big boy bed HERE!
We actually bought the same bedframe from Wayfair for ourselves, and loved its versatility and quality so much that we also bought the single version for Levi!
Since the bed is right beside the wall with the wallpaper my next hurdle was finding bedding. I wanted to find bedding that didn’t fight with the wall, but still had a little bit of a design. The focus I had on the bedding leaned more toward softness and comfort rather than style…but I think I aced on all of those!
I found Ndoto Textile on Etsy and just from the photos you could tell how soft it was! The bedding is made from soft jersey cotton and it’s like butter! It also washes really well! Ethan & I agree, if they made plain white in queen size we would definitely be getting it for our room! For 10% off your own bedding at Ndoto Textile use coupon code BRITSTRAWBRIDGE!
Another thing I wanted to tackle was finding a cool way to store Levi’s toys. Each room has extremely tiny closets so there isn’t a lot of space for lots of bins to organize the toys. Right now Levi (& Finn) are really into building blocks, so I wanted to find something that was easily accessible to them but also easy to clean up! I found these play pouches from Play Pouch Australia and they are wonderful! The toys spread out so they are all visible and then you just pull up the bag for easy cleanup! You can find the large mustard one here + the mini colour & go one here.
& how cute is that little rocket cape? Levi got it as a Christmas gift last year and LOVES it! You can check out my Ultimate Gift Guide for everyone on your list HERE.
We also opted to not have a rug in Levi’s room because he likes running around to play basketball, so I was afraid he’d trip on the edges and what not, so I got him a Gathre mat instead. He uses it as his play mat and when he is eating his snacks because it’s super easy to clean.
I am completely obsessed with the Gathre mats! They are genius. Besides having it as a designated area for playing and snacking, it has been wonderful taking it to the park and on our adventures! If you are looking for a great gift for people with little ones I highly suggest a Gathre mat!
I was so happy that this room came together, and more importantly, Levi loves it and is VERY proud of it. He brings guests straight to his room whenever we have people over and tells them alllll about it. Now it’s the favourite room in the house and the boys are in it almost 90% of the time, as are we!
A big THANK YOU to all the brands involved in putting this eclectic modern boho room together for Levi. On top of absolutely loving the products, these companies were a pleasure to work with!

I like how his room turned out. We have a resource now to refer to, should we decide to do something to our kids’ rooms.
It looks like a style that will take him through his teen years. Great ideas with both purchased and hand made items to personalize it.

Levi’s room looks great! I wonder if I could do something like that to my girl’s room as well.
Oh goodness, I remember helping my parents remove wallpaper from half of our house growing up. I vowed to never have it again! We just redid my youngest sons room and he got to pick the theme and we took him to the store with a budget for his decorations. It’s amazing the pride they have when they help, he shows his room to everyone!
Wow, his room came out great! Should help me decorate my son’s 😉 LOL. jk.
