I don’t think it can get much easier than 3 ingredient cookies. I also don’t think it will get much better than simple, quick + healthy. Now I am going to be honest with you, I will always opt for the chocolate chip cookies avec butter, but these 3 ingredient cookies are almost a weekly baked treat in our home because my husband loves them and so does my 4-year-old. Okay, it doesn’t get much better than THAT! Amiright, mamas?! Apparently, you can please almost everyone.
My husband loves his sweets, but he is very health conscious. On our first date, he was the one who got a salad & I got a massive burger with fries. Anyways…he likes his sweets but never really divulges. These 3 ingredient cookies have become his favourite because they are still tasty + sweet, but he doesn’t have to feel guilty for eating an entire batch!
They are super easy, and super quick to whip up (& you most likely have everything on hand to bake them). I have added some extras I sometimes throw in, and this is where you can let your creativity fly! After the base, you are pretty much golden to put just about anything else in. Just make sure whatever you are throwing in are not all wet ingredients as they won’t turn out as good.
So without further ado! Here are my super simple, super quick, healthy, yummy 3 ingredient cookies!
3 Ingredient Cookies
Ingredients
First, to make the base of the cookie all you need are bananas, quick oats + chocolate chips. Literally, that’s it! You have the wet ingredient from the banana, the dry ingredient from the quick oats, and the sweetness from the chocolate chips.
Technically, you can stop there. Mix these 3 ingredients up, form cookies, bake them and you’re done. Though, more because I need to be somewhat creative in almost everything I do – I like to add some extra tasty things. Though, this is completely up to you!
Add in some extras
I sometimes add maple syrup, nuts, cranberries, raisins…add anything to your heart’s content! Just be careful of the wet ingredients because the bananas make them wet enough!
Mash em’
Usually, I will mix the bananas first to get them nice and soft, even liquidy. You can mash them just as easily, but putting it all in a mixer is just that much easier! That being said, when I am in a hurry I just throw it all in at once and mix until it’s done.
Once the bananas are mashed add the rest of the ingredients!
Get mixin’
Mix them all together until consistent.
Form em’
Using a small cookie scoop, scoop and plop on the baking sheet. Scoop + plop. Scoop + plop. Scoop + plop, until you have about 8 on each sheet. Depending on the consistency of the banana and how much extras I put in, I like to leave some ‘spreading space’.
Take one of the measuring cups you used to measure the ingredients (I’m all about saving dishes!) & flatten those babies out! This ‘dough’ is quite loose, so you may have to play around with the shape to make them round. No biggie!
Bake bake bake bake bake
I usually put 2 baking sheets of 8 in at the same time.
Cook at 350 degrees F. for 20 minutes, 25 minutes if they are a bit thicker than mine. I like to switch it up. They cook & set really well, so you can definitely get the chewy cookie vibe at 20 minutes after letting them sit.
Let them cool + set on a cooling rack for about 5 minutes to cool as well as harden.
& that’s it!
Really, it would be completely acceptable to have this as a healthy mid-morning meal! haha
Now go on and make some! I’d love to know what you think!

Love the fact that these cookies are healthy and one can eat without accompanying guilt pangs. Oats are of course great in fibre and hence very good for health. The chocolate chips and bananas add the flavour and aromas, also the relatively easy method of preparation makes these so doable.
